Description Tristan Miller 2009-05-04 22:00:45 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

When using KMail in Kontact I got the following nonsensical error dialog (see also screenshot):

   Error - Kontact

   The process for the imap://mail.worl

   [ Details >> ] [ OK ]

The reason the error dialog is nonsensical is because the window wasn't wide enough to display the full error message. When I clicked on the "Details" button, the window expanded to show the full message:

The process for the imap://mail.worldsocialism.org protocol died unexpectedly.

Please fix the error dialog so that it is the correct width the first time it is displayed, or so that the error message wraps.

The error string comes not from kmail. Didn't find it in the source. It must be from kio. Not sure whether this error message is displayed by the plasma notification system in 4.4. If so, the problem has probably vanished anyway.

Haven't been able to reproduce the problem lately, so assuming it's gone away.
