Description Winnie the Pooh 2009-05-03 16:53:48 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

using network management, I tried to establish a connection to the internet, after up-grading to Kubuntu 9.04.
It was a struggle to connect, so I tried different options in the connection window of the network manager. In my haste I made a few mistakes in the configuration, so it did not connect right away. However, I did notice that eventually I ended up with the same connection listed 4 times in the manager.
The computer ended up connecting and disconnecting, asking me to log back in rapidly a few times, until I had to turn it off.
After reboot, I clued in that all the wrong configurations I tried were saved up individually and the computer seem to rotate through every connection configuration I tried.
The solution here would be that unsuccessful or wrong configuration would not be saved.
As of right now, I still have 4 listings of the same network, but now I configured them all the same. I have no idea how to delete the ones I do not need.
Hope this was not too confusing.
Thanx for all the work

There is no way to avoid saving 'wrong' configuration, because it's impossible to tell 'wrong' from 'wireless signal too weak' and many other error cases. Sorry.

You can remove the extra copies using the Network Management system settings module.
