Installed from:    SuSE RPMs

On my ThinkPad X61 Tablet notebook knotify4 causes me to lose around 15 minutes of battery life (from 2.8 to 2.5 hours). If I kill knotify4 (which autostarts again) the monitor in powertop suddenly gives me 0.3 hours more battery life.

Top causes for wakeups:
  45.3% (901.8)          knotify4 : futex_wait (hrtimer_wakeup)
  20.8% (413.4)       <interrupt> : extra timer interrupt
  20.6% (409.3)       <interrupt> : uhci_hcd:usb3, yenta, i915@pci:0000:00:02.0

for ordinary users this might not be that much of a problem, but I need to be able to use my laptop for 2 hours 15 minutes on battery (train travel). I don't know if this is solvable in any way....

This may be related to bug 156215. Are you using the Xine Phonon engine ?

Confirmed, switching to Gstreamer fixes the problem. 

Should I mark it as duplicate?
