Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Menubar changes height to default value after suspending to disk or disconnecting the power. I expect it to retain the height for ever and ever.
Which "menubar"? The "XBar" widget of the Bespin widget style? Thanks
The bar on the bottom of the screen, where the system tray is and the quick launch icons. I'm sorry, don't know what its called. Do you know what I mean?
Yes, the Plasma panel. Do you have desktop compositing (effects) ? How does it change? it increases its height ?, decreases it ? any pattern ? Thanks
Yes Kwin is on. I have it thinner (decrease the height) then the default, so after login it increases its height. When unplugging the power the Kwin turns off, I've now changed that and the panel retains its height when unplugging the power. So it has something to do with Kwin turning on and off.
When you notice the height change? when restarting the laptop after the suspend to disk ? Is any other item in the Panel changed to "defaults" (custom widgets, positions)? Can you try customizing any other item in the Panel to see if it reverts to default after restarting the laptop ? Thanks
After startup, often after suspend to disk the height changes. Kwin is disabled when it happens, even if it was on before turning off the computer or suspending to disk. No other item moves, they all resize with the panel. I have the device notifier plugin moved from the default place and it does not move back. Nothing else changes, it only resizes to default height. Thank you very much.
