Version: 0.10.0 (using KDE 4.2.2) Compiler: gcc-4.3.2-r3 OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages I upgraded several programs today, and now when I start digiKam all my albums are empty, all my tags are empty, and my calendar history is flat at 0 additions ever. I checked other bug reports and I do not have any KDEDIRS in ~/.bash_profile nor any kioslaves errors in the console. Here is my console output when I launch digikam: drslony@budgie ~ $ digikam digikam(28305) Phonon::KdePlatformPlugin::createBackend: using backend: "Xine" digikam(28305): Attempt to use QAction "camera_solid" with KXMLGUIFactory! digikam(28305): Attempt to use QAction "usb_media" with KXMLGUIFactory! digikam(28305): Attempt to use QAction "card_reader" with KXMLGUIFactory! digikam(28305): Attempt to use QAction "camera_addedmanually" with KXMLGUIFactory! When I close digikam, this appears in the console: QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'digikamDatabase-41404272' is still in use, all queries will cease to work. First simple question: Have you logged out or restarted your system? I think the kioslave for displaying the albums could not be loaded, this sometimes happens when kdeinit is not loading the new slave properly. Second guess: If after a logout/restart the images are still missing, try renaming you config file (home/XXX/.kde4/share/config/digikamrc) and restart digiKam. After digiKam has been set up, the images should be visible. Andi
For me it's a broken depencies with kioslaves... No suspect messages from the consoles. Gilles Caulier

I booted up today and it works! You are right Andi, it must have been a kdeinit problem because I remember having a strange KDE or X crash yesterday and I didn't restart the whole machine. So I guess the bug can be closed.
