Description Jake 2009-04-28 21:41:19 UTC
Version: 2.0 (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.28-11-generic

Context: I have two audio output devices: the built-in audio chipset on my laptop, and a pair of logitech USB speakers. When playing Video using Dragonplayer, I want the audio to output to the Logitech speakers.

Steps to reproduce:
Go to System Settings -> Multimedia -> Video. Make Logitech preferred over the Intel chip. Play a video (*.rmvb file in my case).

What happens:
The audio is output to the laptop's built-in speakers.

What should happen:
The audio should be output to the USB speakers.

Other notes:
Setting the preference for Music and playing music with Amarok works just fine.

Also, none of the other KDE4 Video players listed at http://multimedia.kde.org respect the Video preference. I'm filing bug reports for all of them.

This should work. are you getting different output in Amarok? Please state which backend you are using.

It seems to be working now. I believe I made a mistake originally, because I was testing on media files that did not work well in DragonPlayer (rmvb files, see bug 190971), which confused things. Please close this issue.
