Description Jake 2009-04-28 21:15:34 UTC
Version: 0.11.0a (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.28-11-generic

Context: I have two audio output devices: the built-in audio chipset on my laptop, and a pair of logitech USB speakers. When playing Video using KMplayer, I want the audio to output to the Logitech speakers.

Steps to reproduce:
Go to System Settings -> Multimedia -> Video. Make Logitech preferred over the Intel chip. Play a video (*.rmvb file in my case).

What happens:
The audio is output to the laptop's built-in speakers.

What should happen:
The audio should be output to the USB speakers.

Other things I have tried:
In KMplayer preferences, changing the output to ALSA, ALSA 0.5, ALSA 0.9, and Back-end defaults. ALSA and backend-defaults plays through the built-in computer speaker. ALSA 0.5 and 0.9 do not play.

Also tried changing the Movie Player option to Phonon. It then says "Phonon buffering" and does not play the movie.

I forgot to mention, setting the preference for Music and playing music with Amarok works just fine.

Also, none of the other KDE4 Video players listed at http://multimedia.kde.org respect the Video preference. I'm filing bug reports for all of them.
