Description Clemens Eisserer 2009-04-27 22:51:43 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

When using Eclipse (the Java-IDE) it seems that copy doesn't seem to work after some time of using it.

Only clicking "Clear Clipboard History" makes it work again for a few copy&paste operations.

I also encountered this problem.
To solve it uncheck the option "Prevent empty clipboard" in Klipper's settings.

I found this solution on http://techtavern.wordpress.com/2008/08/10/fixing-copy-paste-issues-on-eclipse-and-kde/

Confirm this issue, rather annoying.

It is also reported to eclipse site long ago and still has not been solved https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=153809 neither in eclipse, no in klipper
Comment 3 Clemens Eisserer 2009-05-27 14:34:28 UTC
we could try to vote on it - but given the lack of response on way more critical bugs, I doubt it would have any effect.

This is becoming a serious dealbreaker for me. I'm trying to be a professional developer AND use linux, but klipper keeps eating my code. I'm turning the thing off to see how that goes. I'm also voting for this. There are other bugs in KDE sure... but none affect me as often as this one.

Isn't this a dupe of bug 166606?

It seems to be the same bug, but I'll vote both of them :P

It's really annoying :(
KDE 4.2.4
Klipper 0.9.7
Eclipse 3.4.2

Ok! Annoying bug!
Happens on KDE 4.3 RC2 too!
