Description Chris Brown 2009-04-25 23:24:11 UTC
Version:           2.0.2 (using KDE 4.2.2)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

In my opinion the advanced search capabilities of the collection browser should be updated so that you can search based on "rating" and "playcount" as well as other useful fields. Currently those attributes are not available to be searched. In my mind this seems illogical - it is an ADVANCED search so as much flexibility as possible should be included.

This way you could:
-search for your favourite songs (rating > 4.5)
-search for new songs (playcount = 0)

etc

Would also help to replace functionality lost when smart playlists were removed.

There are some other fields missing, too. Let's use this bug to collect them.
I'd like to have support for:
 directory (the search-term has to match the path in which the track resides)
 length (this is actually used as example in the adv. search dialog but not existent)
 collection (a dropdown provides a list of all available collections, so you're able to search only for songs in collection Foo and Bar)

Any other fields missing?

Maybe someone could change the 'topic' of this bug to "Add missing fields to advanced search functionality" - I don't have the needed bugzilla permissions.

All this applies to the dynamic playlist criteria too.

As I said in #203821, it would be great to also be able to search/filter/sort by the filename
Comment 7 Andreas Stangl 2009-08-15 18:36:41 UTC
search by rating would also be nice, currently one can only search by score
Comment 8 Andreas Stangl 2009-08-15 18:37:45 UTC
SORRY, I should have read the initial post more carefully, search by rating is exactly what chris was asking for :-/
Comment 9 Beau Winters 2009-11-17 20:31:22 UTC
Would it be possible to add searching on lyrics to that list as well.

I just checked th Edit filter dialog again, and the available fields mentioned in this report are almost all in:
rating: available
playcount: available, but buggy -> bug 195570

For the following there are already separate wishes:
filename -> bug 211905
lyrics -> 174495

Since it is impossible to track all those in one, I close this as invalid, please check the other reports
