I would be great to improve the way widgets in the panel are moved left or right, something that:

1)move things in a smoooooothly way (like google chrome tabs)
2)make space naturally between the widgets without using any extra buttons 
3)conserve a minimalistic style in the panel settings.

Could you please clarify 2 and 3?

Plasma 4 has been unsupported for several years, and the Plasma 5 panel now has this.
