Description Robin Pedersen 2009-04-24 16:45:54 UTC
Version: SVN 958694 (using KDE 4.2.2)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

On my workstation, holding down the alt key to show the code browser tooltip thing doesn't work. It works on my laptop.

The tooltip does show up when hovering the mouse pointer.

I will try to provide some details:

Qt: 4.5.0
kdelibs: 4.2.2
Arch: x86_64

Alt is set up as "Modifier key" in kwin, and using it to move windows does work. However, this is the default, and is the same on my laptop.

`xev` shows this information when pressing the alt key:
KeyPress event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x3000001,
    root 0x13c, subw 0x0, time 326093450, (154,-13), root:(1345,689),
    state 0x0, keycode 64 (keysym 0xffe9, Alt_L), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XFilterEvent returns: False

Does your laptop have the same qt and kde versions? If not which are installed there?
Comment 2 Robin Pedersen 2009-04-24 17:20:50 UTC
Yes, it has the same distro (ArchLinux), package selection and qt/kde/kdevelop versions.

**BUT** My laptop uses i686 architecture packages
Comment 3 Robin Pedersen 2009-04-24 17:40:55 UTC
Is it possible to use a different key for this feature?
Comment 4 Andreas Pakulat 2009-04-24 19:00:23 UTC
only by changing the code unfortunately.
Comment 5 Andreas Pakulat 2009-07-25 23:05:37 UTC
Is this still a problem? I had problems too sometime back, but it does work now again.
Comment 6 Robin Pedersen 2009-07-25 23:33:53 UTC
I am away on holiday at the moment. I will not be able to test this for at least two weeks.
