Description Wayne Sturtevant 2009-04-23 03:16:33 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.10)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Unspecified Linux

This morning I updated my PCLinuxOS as usual (every day) using Synaptic
and when I restarted tonight I was greeted with the following message:
---------------------------------------------------------------
Application KDE Panel(kicker) crashed and caused the signal 11
(SIGSIGV).

and it suggested send this message to this web site.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Wayne
updated with Synaptic this morning as usual didn't see the message on second login this evening.
no problems observed so far.
KDE version 3.5.10
PCLinuxOS downloaded last year and updated every day.
Linux release 2.6.26.8.tex
Computer i686

I made an update from PClinuxOS repository last night (GMT +5:30) and my kicker panel crashes too. I have filed the bug http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=190409

Did you observe any broken packages after the update?
Comment 2 Wayne Sturtevant 2009-04-24 01:50:16 UTC
I attempted to send a message earlier today and apparently it didn't get into the system. I use PCLinxOS 7 also. But it received a lot of updates this month that changed the boot path to Linux release 2.6.26.8.tex instead of PCLinOS. I don't know the significance of that change but it should be noted by the experts. some of my programs required Gnome support but that change occured two months ago without a problem. If this is inappropriate in this place please let me know.

We do not support kicker anymore.
