currently if there is a link in a document like created with latex and the hyperref package, and okular is drawing boxes around these links to highlight them, then these highlights are also printed.

This does not make sense since the links can not be used on paper
and does not look nice.

Can you please attach a document showing the issue?
Also, which version of the poppler-qt4 library do you have?

sorry for then noise it was me struggling with the hyperref package. okular in fact removes the frames around links that get created by itself correctly.
