Description Jon Nelson 2009-04-20 23:31:00 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

open up two files in two different kate instances

copy text from one file to the clipboard. exit that instance of kate.

try to paste the text you copied into the other instace of kate. It does not work. For some reason, kate is not copying data to the clipboard the way other applications do.

Hmm, to me that looks just like normal X11 behaviour, just checked, we use the right API functions, works like intended.

I am having the same problem, all I know is that after using copy in kate, then closing kate, my clipboard is cleared.

I never had this problem with kate before, it only started this today. Can someone help out with what setting in Linux Mint or Ubuntu 14.04 LTS might need to be changed to allow the clipboard to remain after kate is closed?

A temporary solution to this problem is to keep kate open until after the paste has been made.
