Description bauerfichtner 2009-04-20 12:20:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.10)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian stable Packages

I have "pinentry-program /usr/bin/pinentry-qt" set in ~/.gnupg/gpg-agent.conf. Somehow the package providing pinentry-qt got deleted. KMail then complained that gpg-agent was not running whenever I had to enter the passphrase for my secret key. gpg-agent was running, the problem was resolved by installing pinentry-qt, nothing else was changed.
The error message is misleading. It should probably read that the required binary was not found.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
