Thanks for the bug report! I cannot reproduce the issue here (KDE 4.2.2 on Kubuntu and trunk rev. 956819). Are all symbolic links truncated to 5 letters for you? Could you tell us what the full name of the link (starting with symli...) is? Maybe it has something to do with that...

I've sent another screenshot and here is what I did:

$ touch file1.txt
$ touch audio.mp3
$ touch gentoo.manual
$ touch file
$ ln -s audio.mp3 madonna.mp3
$ ln -s file myfile
$ ln -s file1.txt first.txt
$ ln -s gentoo.manual linux

I've tried KDE 4.2.0, 4.2.1, 4.2.2 and Qt 4.4.2, 4.5.0. Same results.

Thanks for the update, but I'm still unable to reproduce :-(

Tried KDE 4.2.2/Qt 4.5.0 and trunk rev. 959312/Qt 4.5.1.

Qt 4.5.1 from Gentoo emerge, nothing changed.
