Description Fred Albrecht 2009-04-19 12:17:13 UTC
Version: 0.10.0 (using KDE 4.2.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

There is apparently some support in XMP to embed the license for the object (the image in this case), as exposed for example on http://wiki.creativecommons.org/XMP. Support for popular licences would be convenient.
The various CC and "all rights reserved" would be a good start.

It would be simpler (or maybe a good complement until XMP catches on) than my adding "some rights may be reserved" in the comments field :)

Are you tried to use Metadata Edit kipi plugin ?

If it's the one that is accessed through image/metadata, then yes.
There is a "Copyright" field but nothing related to the license as far as I can tell.
I'm not really through reading the XMP spec so maybe I missed something. Looks like an "everything and the kitchensink" design to me...

The new metadata templates don't include the required fields either. Strangely only the xmpRights:UsageTerms tag is used and all of the other fields from the xmpRights schema (defined in the Adobe XMP spec) are not used. Even the ones for which information has already been provided to fill them in.
