Description Adrián Chaves (Gallaecio) 2009-04-17 01:07:36 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package

That's all. I have to use Kate in orther to be able to write characters like á, é, í, ó, ú, although I can write ñ or ç. Seems that KDETwitter (or widget-twitter) prints a ´ as soon as I press the key, and doesn't wait for the character after it, so 'a + ´ = ´a', while it should be 'a + ´ = á'.

This happens also using the notes and translatoid plasmoids on KDE 4.2.2. with all the special characters which have to be written using two keys on certain keyboards (¨, ^, ´, etc.).

I didn't have that problem when I was using KDE-4.2.2. But now that I upgraded to kde-4.2.3, the problem showed up.

I am from Brazil and when I type stuff in pt_BR which need accentuation, as soon as I press the "acute" (´) key it gets displayed, instead of waiting for the next character (a vowel in Portuguese).

Any hints on how to solve this?

Fixed in trunk but I cannot point to the commit that fixed it! But accented letters like ^ + e => ê and compose key accents now work in all Plasma input widgets!
