Description ligfiets 2009-04-16 22:18:58 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

In this pdf: http://www.masfjorden.kommune.no/tenestetorg/dokument/ferjerute.pdf
When I try to select one column of the timetable and copy it to the clipboard, the order of the rows is completely changed.
Example:
I select the column on the right side of the document (sunday), when i paste it into a document it becomes:

Søndag
16.50
17.30
18.10
18.55
19.40
20.40
21.40
22.40
15.25
13.15
14.20
11.40
10.00
08.00
08.40
02.10a
06.45

I can confirm this particular bug with OpenSuse 11.2, okular from KDE 4.3.4 and the provided pdf (link).

I stumbled over this bug report because I experienced a bug which may be closely related: In a specific pdf (a paper I can not post publicly, but maybe I could send it via PM to a developer if necessary) everytime I would like to copy a text from the "References " section of this paper, the text in the line above gets copied into klipper -- to get approximately (because of different line structures...) the text I would like to copy, I have to select the line below the actual text.

This seems to happen in just the "References" section of this paper, I don't know if there is something wrong with the pdf, or if it's okulars fault.

I believe this is a duplicate of bug 205774. According to Albert, KDE 4.8 introduced a new text layouting algorithm and it will also include a "Copy text from table" mode. If you are still having this issue in KDE 4.8 (which just hit RC1), please post here.

Thanks for the bug triaging jordonwii, i'm setting the bug as fixed.

If when upgrading to 4.8 you still find that the available options do not suit your needs please reopen and explain the situation.
