Description Danni Coy 2009-04-16 11:39:51 UTC
Version: 2.1 (using KDE 4.2.2)
Compiler: gcc 4.3 stock ubuntu 9.04 gcc
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Often when Amarok is switching songs it will not attempt to play the next song in the playlist it will attempt to play the next song and show the title track in the OSD but within a fraction of a second skip the track and move onto the next song after doing this two, three or more songs it will find a song and actually play it but will have skipped several songs in the playlist in the process.

If I manually try to play a skipped song from the playlist (double click on it) it will play just fine.

Initially I thought it might have something to do with the fact I am using an external firewire soundcard and the xine-jack backend to talk to it... But it also seems to happen at work using my internal soundcard.

I am running Amarok 2.1 from subversion and have had this problem with 2.0 as well. I am running on Ubuntu 9.04.

This is a known problem with the "Now Playing" Plasma desktop widget. Just remove it from your desktop to stop the random skipping.

(The author of the widget is informed about this, and it's supposedly fixed in SVN.)
