Support for Utmp have been enabled back : http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=802428


but if i open konsole i don't see anything in 'who', it seems that this  feature doesn't work.

Does mandriva ship libutempter? If so, it should work if kdelibs are compiled with libutempter support. This should only fail on systems that don't ship this library, and in this case many workarounds need to take place. I have done some work on it, but it is not ready yet...
