Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages When dragging a file or folder from a Konqueror file system view, on releasing the mouse button, a popup appears asking whether to Move Here, Copy Here, Link Here, or Cancel. In addition, the popup shows modifier keys that in 3.x versions of Konqueror indeed had the effect of signifying the drop as a move/copy/link without showing the popup. This no longer works. In Konqueror 4.2.2, the popup appears no matter what modifier keys are held.
Pressing modifier (on dnd) doesn't shows the popup (trunk, r954149). Without pressing modifier, both dolphin and konqueror shows the popup window. @Peter: is this the wanted behaviour?
@FiNeX: yes, this is the wanted behavior and also the behavior that Michael requests. I'm currently not at home and did not test KDE 4.2.2 - if it works on trunk and not in 4.2.2, the fix should be backported. I'll check this today in the evening...
Using 4.2.2 on archlinux the behaviour is the same I've on SVN: if I keep a modifier key pressed and I perform a drag and drop action, the popup is not visible. Could it be a problem on debian packages?
@FiNeX: Are you really sure it works in trunk? For me, modifier keys work only if drag source and drop target belong to the same process, which is the case if you drag something from Dolphin to any other Dolphin view or window of the same user. If you're using Konqueror (like Michael), every window runs in its own process, and it does not work, see bug 178679. I'd say that the second part of the bug report (modifier keys) is a duplicate of that one, the first half (popup menu shown if no modifier keys pressed) is the wanted behaviour and not a bug.
My first paragraph in the original ticket is only meant to describe the context, not point out a problem. I agree that this bug is a duplicate of 178679 and have marked it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 178679 ***
