Description Helge Stenström 2009-04-15 09:21:46 UTC
Version: 2.0 beta-3 (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), MS Visual Studio 2005 SP1)
Compiler: cl.exe
OS: Microsoft Windows (i686) release 6.0 (Vista Professional)

I create a document from a blank template, containing the text "Sample document" only.
When the document is saved in various formats, exactly the same file is saved.

I've tried to save in .DOC, .ODT and in the default format. The actual saved file is 2665 or 2666 byte long.

Also, the line "ODT-dokument" appears three times in the save-as dialog.

I'd like to attach a screen shot and the saved files, but I can't see how to do it on this bug report page.

Sample file saved as odt, with abw in the file name.
sample.abw.odt

Same file length as the document saved in other formats.

Please try a newer version, the one you tried is 6 months old...

I know at least the bug of showing the wrong export formats in the dialog has been fixed and at least on Linux the saving of the doc works properly.

The version I'm reporting on was installed or updated just a few weeks ago, at least if the installer is working properly. I'm using kdewin-installer-gui-0.9.5-0.exe. It takes its downloads from "Northern Europe,Sweden (http://ftp.sunet.se)". The selected release is "stable latest", which is listed below "stable 4.2.2". It seems to me that up-to-date packages are not listed in the package selection section.

Should I try to file a bug for the installer instead? It's the official installer, isn't it?

Is this bug a duplicate of an old (solved) bug? Which?
