Description Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. 2009-04-13 20:29:09 UTC
Version: 1.2.1 (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Linux supports arbitrary extended attributes. "Simple" name/value pairs that are associated with a file or directory. It would be nice to have these extended attributes exposed via some UI in Dolphin and DolphinPart.

The "POSIX" ACL support is only part of the extended attributes mechanism, certain names under the "system" namespace are enforced by system calls. However, the "user" namespace could be quite useful in general and the "security" and "trusted" namespaces might be interesting for specialized uses.
