Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages ---------- Forwarded Message ---------- Subject: Lancelot locks accessing NTFS partition Date: Wednesday 08 April 2009 From: Valerio Passini <valerio.passini@unicam.it> To: debian-kde@lists.debian.org Dear Developers, Lancelot is a nice replacement for kickoff and bears several features among of which there is the possibility to access disk partitions and devices connected to the computer. I have a dual boot machine with a couple of NTFS partitions that I don't need to access normally, thus they are not listed inside /etc/fstab, but Lancelot is able to detect and list them under Computer. With default settings Lancelot launches everything just hovering the mouse on the icons, thus when I move the mouse over these partitions, Lancelot totally locks. Dolphin shows me a message if I try to mount partitions that I'm not allowed to, but it doesn't lock. There is anything I can do to: 1) avoid that Lancelot even sees the partitions or 2) Lancelot doesn't lock itself if I "click" on not allowed partitions. Should I file a bugreport to Debian? Thank you Valerio
Thanks for posting this here, I'll see what the problem is in a couple of days (I'm a bit busy these last few weeks)
This is not restricted to NTFS partitions. I have 2 ext3 partitions that are not mounted by default. I get a policy message if I click on these in dolphin; lancelot hangs if I select them from the Computer panel. So I think this may be a problem for all unmounted partitions, at least those that are not able to be mounted automatically due to policy restriction.
Yes, it is a problem with all partitions that can not be mounted due to any reason.
