Description Andrey Borzenkov 2009-04-12 08:05:36 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Mandriva RPMs

4.2.2 + patches from 4.2 branch/Qt4.5; fontconfig 2.6.0-4mdv.

In text input fields fonts seem to be slightly shifted to the bottom, which truncates characters like g or y. See screenshot.

BTW it seems to happen only in text input field. In other places (like konqueror status line at the bottom) text is displayed OK, no truncation.

Can you reproduce this on another site textfield too ? (This one seems "styled" to look plain). What is your widget style?
Thanks
Comment 4 Andrey Borzenkov 2009-04-12 18:37:26 UTC
Style is Mandriva ia_ora.

Using Oxygen I still see misplaced text effect; it is looks better on KDE bugzilla; but it still looks partially truncated e.g. on Google. I attach screenshots of both using Oxygen.

Some details of configuration. I have 1024x768 LCD screen with 106 DPI resolution; medium font size in Konqueror is set to 9pt. The effect is less visible using default 12pt medium size in Konqueror, but this results in unacceptably huge fonts here.

Here:

Qt: 4.5.1 (qt-copy  958974)
KDE: 4.2.71 (KDE 4.2.71 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090428))
kdelibs svn rev. 960693 / kdebase svn rev. 960693
on ArchLinux i686 - Kernel 2.6.29.1

Forcing to 120DPI + 9pt medium font on Konqueror + Oxygen: it's a bit better.
