Description Dimitar Pashov 2009-04-09 11:54:18 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Compiler: it doesn't matter none
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

The open/save dialog always shows the files/folders in descending orders when details or tree details view is selected. It doesn't respect the "Sort reversed" setting in the ".kde4/share/config/kdeglobals" file nor it respects the last used mode. I find myself always clicking on the "name" column to get the ascending sorting in that dialog and it never remembers.

To reproduce it follow the steps:
1. Open some kde program, for example kwrite
2. Click on the "open" button or "file" -> "open" menu entry
3. Click on the wrench in the top-right corner and select "view" -> "detailed view"
4. Notice how the files and folders are sorted in descending order.
5. Now sort them in ascending order through whichever way you like.
6. Select some file and open it.
7. Close the program.
8. Repeat the steps 1,2 and notice the view mode is as you left it before ("details") but the sorting is descending rather than ascending as you left it.

I created a new user and the bahaviour is the same.

I can reproduce it on another installation - kde 4.2.2.
The bug report is based on opensuse 11.1 64 4.2.69.svn949727-1.2
Comment 3 Dario Andres 2009-04-09 15:05:49 UTC
Here using:

Qt: 4.5.0 + qt-copy-patches-936035
KDE: 4.2.68 (KDE 4.2.68 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090327))
kdelibs svn rev. 949645 / kdebase svn rev. 949645
on ArchLinux i686 - Kernel 2.6.28.8

I can reproduce this too.

Reassigning to KFile
