Version: 1.4.2 (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2) "release 111", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.1) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.19-3.2-default This is actually a few bugs/undesired behavior in 1... I have a few contacts in my addressbook with multiple email addresses. When selecting them in the contact list view a dialog appears asking me to "Select email address" with radio buttons next to each of their email addresses... Here is the first bit of undesired behavior - I have no idea why the application is asking me this. There is no apparent reasoning why I must immediately choose one of the contacts email addresses, and no information is given as to what I am doing with the email address I choose - I could be setting it as default, deleting it, sending spam to it.... Once I click "ok" the bug bit of this arises - I am immediately greeted with the exact same prompt. It seems to like to re-open itself either 1, 3, or 5 times before finally going away. Sometimes it will re-trigger itself after a few seconds. (Probably due to some interaction on my part, although I haven't been able to narrow it down yet.) The final bit of this whole issue comes in when I select multiple contacts at once and one or more of them have multiple email addresses, as the issue triggers for each contact with several addresses. When selecting several contacts the dialog likes to re-open a lot more as well. As far as troubleshooting, I have removed the second email address and all works fine until I re-add it. I have taken a contact with no email and added several emails and the bug rears its head. This is a somewhat annoying bug for me, but potentially a deal-breaker for anyone with lots of contacts with multiple email addresses per.
I am seeing this too. It is quite easy to reproduce: 1. Add a new contact to your addressbook, enter an email address for it, and click ok. 2. Right click on the contact, and select "Edit contact". 3. Click "Edit email addresses", then click "add" and add a second (different) one. 4. Click ok, and then ok again to close that contact's details. 5. Select a different contact in the list by clicking on it, then select the one you just created again, by clicking on it. Try to right click and edit the new contact. The result is that the pop-up window as described above appears repeatedly, with no real indication as to what it is asking or doing. It appears to have no effect though.
I can confirm this bug on Kubuntu 9.04 Beta (Kontact 1.4.2 / KAddressBook 4.1). Its very annoying.
I confirm this bug on Kubuntu 8.10 with kde4.2.2 backport and mandriva cooker with kde4.2.2
Will be fixed in KDE 4.2.3.
Where should I be looking for the commit(s) that fixed it?
