Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I want to use akregator 1.4.2 on KDE 4.2.2 and sync the feeds with Google reader, which it is supposed to support since some versions as far as I understand. To activate the online synchronization, I tried "Settings -> Configure Akregator -> Online Readers -> Add". This opens up a dialog "Modify online Reader Account", where I can choose "Google Reader". I enter my credentials (with or without @googlemail.com) and click "Ok". Since bug #167207 has been fixed, clicking the Ok button closes the dialog. Unfortunately, still nothing happens afterwards. I would expect it to synchronize with the Google reader and to fetch the feeds I'm using there.
As far as I know, no public API for Google Reader has been released (yet). Although there are reverse-engineered projects, these are probably incomplete and the API that Google uses is subject to change.

Perhaps the code for the official Google Reader could be a help in this, since it uses the API: http://code.google.com/p/google-reader-gadget/
The google reader plugin was disabled as it doesn't work and its maintainer did not respond. We hope to have Online reader support finally in 4.4, when switched to Akonadi (there is already experimental support for newsgator in it).
im askin more than year later - so what is with google reader support?
i would like to use it too (not alone i guess)
is akregator 4.8.5 support sync with google reader?
