Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages In kopete when network is disconnected for some reason, ( say I switched to vpn) kopete takes some time to reflect these changes. In the mean time any im's I am getting are getting lost. This is so damn frustrating that I have no clue when others say you got my im's ?
This problem still exists with kopete in kde 4.3. With yahoo plugin , I am getting other persons im and I reply to it from my kopete, but the receiver is not getting the im. I have to quit and restart kopete as it crashes with I try to go offline and come online. Is kopete maintained at all?
yes, kopete is maintained, but by a very small team of people for the user base it is, the complexity of the problems that are reported, and the sheer number of reported problems.
The crash issue was because of facebook plugin. But im's getting lost is still valid. Worst part is I am not even aware of the issue unless the other persons calls me or comes to my desk and ask why am I not responding.
I am seeing the same problem with kopete and kde 4.4 rc1. gtalk account just works fine with kopete. Now I have to switch back to pidgin. The network I am using is a private corp one(office one). Just wondering if that has any relation to this issue.
Hi can you test with the latest code, in the trunk. Both the Ping has been rewitten and also the alive statement, the change of network may have caused a problem with the Alive only being sent very hour, whereas the Yahoo Windows client sends every minute, Now the alive is sent every minute and the ping which keeps you connected is sent every 59 minutes.. I dont have a dual network setup available right now to test this..
If this is part of kde 4.4 rc2 I can test it once kdemod arch provides me the packages.
I installed 4.4rc2 today. Now when I am logged in on kopete and start pidgin, kopete still stays online. Previously it used to warn that I am logged in from another location
Not sure which version they took to make the 4.4rc2 but using the latest mine does log me off and notify me, I will test using different status and times, to see if i can replicate with the latest..
Using 4.4.0 (gentoo and kubuntu). Messages are definitely getting lost. But the funny part is that kopete is sending something to yahoo, although some of the messages are status messages with status = offline and after these the real text message. Could it be that any message sent after status = offline is ignored by yahoo? (Tested with wireshark)
