Description Arne Babenhauserheide 2009-04-06 09:14:28 UTC
Version: 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1) (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Gentoo)
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27-gentoo-r8

When I select some text on a html page with the mouse and then paste it with middleclick, each line but the first has a space as first character, even though the line doesn't begin with a space.

When I copy the same text with ctrl-c and paste with ctrl-v I don't get the space in front of the lines.

To reproduce:

select and copy some text, i.e. http://forum.i2p2.de:80/viewtopic.php?p=15728#15728

open kGpg (for some reason when I paste in kate, I get the space as first char regardless of the way I use to copy).

open the editor in kGpg and opaste the text there, once with middleclick, once with ctrl-v.

Expected behaviour: copy without the space, regardless of the way i use to copy.

I can confirm this with KDE 4.3.2 and the given link. But I cannot confirm this for other webpages.
Comment 2 Arne Babenhauserheide 2009-10-18 09:49:23 UTC
I get it in most forums, so I have to remove spaces when for example copying space sentitive markup or code.

Still there is 4.8 git version, but only with the khtml engine. It is pasted fine if you use the webkit browser engine.
