Description m.wege 2009-04-04 20:34:54 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

While KDE4 is getting more and more stable, it stil crashes from time to time... and return with a little mess. Mostly I have problems of getting the panel back in order. So I would like to see a "restore standard panel" function. I do not know where it actually should be, but it would be really helpful. I just had some problems (bug is reported) whereafter I had to rebuild the panel and the biggest problem was to know the names. To me a while to realise what I was missing was "task switcher".

I suppose that a System Settings module which returns application configurations to their default values would help here. It would be a simple matter of deleting the appropriate ~/.kde/share/config/*rc file.

Alternatively, instead of erasing the *rc file, it could simple rename the file *rc-YYYMMDD (date format). So far as KDE is concerned this would be the same as deleting the file, but it would allow for recovery.

On KDE 4.5.0 you can create a new "default panel". Do you agree to consider this wish as fixed?
