Version: 2.1-SVN (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), 4.2.2-1.fc10 Fedora) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.21-170.2.56.fc10.x86_64 The latest SVN version of Amarok 2.1 (revision 949160) crashes often when I repeatedly skip songs (hitting the forward global hotkey). I use Fedora 10 with KDE 4.2.2. It seems like there are not all debuginfos available right now. However, it looks like the crash might happens in libavcodec, so maybe this isn't an Amarok issue at all (can it really be?). In what function is not possible to say. I'll attach the incomplete backtrace.

It's related to ffmpeg. What is your Phonon backend? Thanks
I use xine pulseaudio. (Why oh why do all major distributions force us users to use crappy, laggy, buggy pulseaudio and ruin their systems so that you can't use them without pulseaudio anymore?) Versions: xine-lib: 1.1.16.2, release 3.fc10 ffmpeg: 0.4.9, release 0.55.20080908.fc10 pulseaudio: 0.9.14, release 1.fc10
Oh, and further versions: phonon: 4.3.1, release 2.fc10 phonon-backend-xine: 4.3.1, release 2.fc10
I recomend you to look into http://forums.fedoraforum.org/ Also this post mentions the PulseAudio+KDE: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=205382&highlight=phonon+pulseaudio Thanks
I see, thanks. However, when using pulseaudio, kde is not the only software that makes problems. In fact every software that outputs sound works better without pulseaudio (especially SDL games), IF the distribution would support not using pulseaudio (if you uninstall pulseaudio in Fedora 10 you get sound like in the 90ies: only one app at a time can use the soundcard! WTF?). However, this does not belong here. I'm just not sure when a crash is related to what and because of a lot Amarok crashes in the past that in fact where Amaroks fault I added this bugreport here. Sorry if I accused the wrong program of being the miscreant.
Marking as DOWNSTREAM as this crash is not an Amarok / Phonon crash/bug. I'm sorry about the distributions decisions
