In previous versions (4.2.1 and earlier) when opening the standard (non-classic) launcher using the default shortcut (Alt-F1), the launcher would get focus automatically meaning that any text input would end up in the 'Search' panel at the top of the launcher. 

With 4.2.2 this is no longer the case and I have to use the mouse to give the launcher focus before it accepts any input from the keyboard.
