Description Iñaki Baz Castillo 2009-04-01 21:07:49 UTC
Version: desconocido (using 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27-11-generic

I was using Kmail 4.2.1 from varios days with no problems. I have a POP and a DIMAP accounts configured from the beggining. Today Kmail crashes when starting and receiving mail.

Running Kmail from a terminal I get the following error:

--------------
kmail: /build/buildd/kdepim-4.2.1/kmail/kmmsgbase.cpp:1035: off_t KMMsgBase::getLongPart(KMMsgBase::MsgPartType) const: Afirmación `sizeOfLong == len' fallida.
*** KMail got signal 6 (Crashing)
KCrash: Application 'kmail' crashing...
----------------

Note that "Afirmación `sizeOfLong == len' fallida" means "Assertion `sizeOfLong == len' failed".

I've removed my DIMAP account by editing kmailrc and the crash remains (I think it occurs when receiving some specific mail via POP).

Probably related to this bug:
  http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kdepim-bugs/2009-March/014242.html
Comment 3 Iñaki Baz Castillo 2009-04-01 22:12:11 UTC
And this is probably a duplicate report:

Comment 4 Iñaki Baz Castillo 2009-04-01 22:36:54 UTC
I've deleted some "*.index", "*.index.ids" and "*index.sort" and now Kmail works again.
Comment 5 Dario Andres 2009-04-01 23:18:19 UTC
Yes, it is indeed the same crash as bug 182582. Thanks
