Description Alexey Pechnikov 2009-03-31 13:07:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Akonady must use embedded database instead of external mysqld process. SQLite/berkeleydb/tokyocabinet may be used.

I did try to write "Tobias Koenig <tokoe@kde.org>" but he did ignore this. Problem is discussed in debian-russian mail list and all members did speak against the mysqld usage.

We tried that without success, see http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/PIM/Akonadi#Akonadi_FAQ for the details. As it unfortunately turned out, running mysqld is the only working option at the moment.

Can I help you with sqlite? And you may send your questions to sqlite-users mail list.
Comment 3 Volker Krause 2009-04-01 10:03:39 UTC
Sure, help is always very welcome. There are a number of people interested in adding sqlite support, you might want to join the #akonadi IRC channel on freenode and coordinate with them.
