Version: (using KDE 4.2.1) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages When opening system settings, the title is badly displayed. The weird thing is that it gets correctly displayed as soon as I click a category in the list. The language is set to French and I had the problem in Fedora 11 and Ubuntu 9.10 which both uses QT4.5.

It's OK here for SystemSettings in my KDE 4.2 branch (I use Qt 4.4 though but I don't see how it would make a difference) and the translation file is OK: you can check it here http://websvn.kde.org/branches/stable/l10n-kde4/fr/messages/kdebase/systemsettings.po?revision=919273&view=markup Can't it be something in your distribution settings? I don't see what I can do about it as a translator especially if it's OK when you click on a category: the translation is then displayed correctly which makes it not a translation problem. I invite you to investigate further with French users using your distribution and to report your findings then. Thanks in advance!
By the way it's not a typo but an encoding problem, meaning the รจ is not displayed as UTF-8. How can this be only when you open first System Settings is a puzzle for me though. Waiting for more info.
jairbubbles: can you either ask your distribution about this problem or test with KDE 4.2.2 as I cannot reproduce nor find anyone who can confirm this. Thanks in advance for following this, Anne-Marie
Distribution problem, nothing wrong in the French translation.
