Description James Funk 2009-03-30 16:14:41 UTC
Version:           1.9.51 (using 4.0.4 (KDE 4.0.4 >= 20080505) "release 15.2", openSUSE 11.0 (i586))
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.20-0.1-default

Because I have poor eyesight, I wanted to increase the font size used by KMAIL. I used the following click-stream from within KMAIL:

settings --> configure kmail --> appearence
--> fonts tab --> check "use custom fonts" --> apply to --> select 'message text' --> select '15' from 'size'
--> apply to --> select 'composer' --> select '15' from 'size' --> O.K.

After doing this, KMAIL crashes whenever I close a window. For example, I might open a message, read it, and close the window. And KMAIL will crash with "SIGSEGV".

If I go back into settings, and uncheck "use custom fonts", KMAIL will work normally. (But plain text messages (that is, non HTML) will be hard for me to read.)
Comment 1 James Funk 2009-03-30 16:17:55 UTC
Severity should be "crash", not "wishlist"
Comment 2 Christoph Feck 2009-03-30 21:28:45 UTC
If this is reproducable, please provide a backtrace, see http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports for instructions.

Comment 4 Dario Andres 2009-03-30 23:34:27 UTC
Just a comment: your KDE version is a "bit" old. Try to update at least to KDE4.1.4 / 4.2.1
Comment 5 James Funk 2009-03-31 01:27:10 UTC
Upgrading to KDE 4.2 fixed the problem. As far as I'm concerned, the status can be changed to "resolved" or "closed."
Comment 6 Dario Andres 2009-04-01 20:02:06 UTC
I'm glad it works now. Thanks
