Version: (using KDE 4.2.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages One of my friends on $CHAT_PROTOCOL has the annoying behaviour of typing on avg. 4-5 words per utterance, then in his sudden burst of ideas throws out thus way to many lines which otherwise would've been condensed to maybe 10, now blown up to 40 and more. If I don't read as quickly as he types, which rarely happens as I am multitasking between other real world issues, the only way to read his messages is to wait until his brain cells start to dry out finally stopping the otherwise constant flow of ideas. Only then can I scroll up to start reading his one-way conversation, now not being interrupted by Kopete's repeated urge to scroll down to the newest message, a bug I finally want to report. Oh, important for this bug report is my screen size - 1024x768, the overall limiting factor for resizing the chat window in the urge to get hold of the first lines of my dear friend's monologue. Proposed solutions: no scrolling at all - or - scroll only when window not focused
Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved.
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
