Version: 0.70.0 (using 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: cc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27-14-generic I have an WLM IM account and a Google IM account. Currently, for some of my WLM contacts, I can move a contact from the '~' group to my 'Friends' group, but as soon as I restart Kopete, the contact reappears in the '~' group. More history: I've used Kopete since at least KDE 3.4, maybe even earlier, when the plugin was still called MSN. When I upgraded from 3.5 to 4.1 through Kubuntu, all of my MSN/WLM contacts were duplicated. One of the duplicates appeared offline, and the other contact's status reflected their true state. I deleted all the offline contacts. I'm not claiming it's related, but it was an issue that seemed related. The only plugin I use is the History plugin.
probably something missing from the wlm plugin since it's brand new code.

You re-added your account, didn't you? if that's the case it is related to the fact that the wlm protocol isn't automagically migrating the accounts from the msn protocol.
I did re-add the account. I discovered this issue after I re-added my account and fixed all my contacts. I don't think it's that the contacts aren't migrated, just that the wlm plugin does not appear to support changing a group (maybe not creating a group?)
