Version: 1.4 (using 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1) "release 108", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.1) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.19-3.2-default Recently (over the course of the past several days) I've started getting frequent prompts by some "KDE daemon" to ask for a password in order to access the wallet. Sometimes an hour passes between prompts, sometimes less than 30 minutes. What is this "KDE Daemon"? If I deny access to the wallet, then plasmoid-gmailnotifier explicitly prompts for my gmail password, even thought it appears still connected to gmail.
Any module of KDED identifies as "KDE Daemon" to kwallet. According to what you wrote I assume that it's related to the gmail notifier plasmoid which probably uses a KDED module to access gmail (maybe kpasswdserver). This problem can be probably worked around by configuring the wallet to stay open (in KDE Wallet settings). The "KDE Daemon" problem is already filed so I'm marking this bug as a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 180504 ***
