Version: unknown (using 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1) "release 108", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.1) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.20-1-debug Open konsole and type "xterm &". The xterm window pops up. Try close the xterm window by clicking on the Close button in top right corner of the window. No effect. Type Ctrl-D in the xterm window - xterm exits and window closes. Note that kde4 apps are still closeable - e.g. window created by typing "konqueror &" is closeable.
I just tried and cannot reproduce. Xterm closes when I click the close window button.
This appears to be a konsole bug - I've got a second konsole window open, and xterm's started from that window are closable as expected. How bizarre.
Have you tried a recent KDE? Perhaps 4.3.0. Re-open if you can reproduce.
