Description René Krell 2009-03-19 19:24:26 UTC
Version: 0.70.0 (using 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1) "release 104", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.1)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.19-3.2-default

I use a web camera over uvcvideo. Parallely there is Skype running on my system, but not using the camera, I cannot see any relation to the following issues.

In the video settings panel I got the following problems:

1. After starting or restarting Kopete the preview is not automatically visible, but closing and reopening the video settings dialog makes it work.

2. The "Standard" drop down box does not contain any value, it is empty.

How is Skype related to this ?
Did you try to capture from the device with Skype and Kopete at the same time ? Of course, that doesn't work.

Concerning #1:
Do I understand you right, that the device generally works (you get a picture in the preview), but not when you open the video configuration dialog for the first time ?

Does the problem still occur with Kopete 1.0 (KDE SC 4.4) ?

Which device (USB-VID:PID) and driver are you using ?

Concerning #2:
An empty "Standard"-combobox is normal for most devices. This is not a bug and your device should work nevertheless.
