Version: 2.0.1 (using KDE 4.2.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I had a song placed at /home/zdenek/music/Sigur Rós/1999 - Ágætis Byrjun/05 - Ný Batterí.mp3 The whole /home/zdenek/music/ folder was in the collection. Then I fixed the file names by the folder became "1999 - Ágætis byrjun" and file name "05 - Ný batterí.mp3", i.e. the whole new URL is /home/zdenek/music/Sigur Rós/1999 - Ágætis byrjun/05 - Ný batterí.mp3 Since that, it didn't show in the collection anymore (rescanning collection or restarting Amarok didn't help) and it showed incorrectly in the Track details dialog (only directory name; the file name was correct). However, in the "Files" view, both the directory and file names were correct. Situation after renaming is shown on attached screenshot.

Are your files stored on an ext partition of is it another partition format?
Everything from my collection is on ext3 partition.
Also happens in 2.1-SVN
*** Bug 203243 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
This applies to both artists and album. Song titles aren't affected. But not updating lowercase/uppercase is not the biggest problem, as this bug is also ignoring things like changing accents on letters. Change, say, "Andre" to "André", and it doesn't update the name. And this is much worse because it affects pronunciation.
Is this still valid with current 2.2-git? Ben, we do agree that this is about changes in the filenames, not in the id3 tags, as the title describes, right?
I upgraded to 2.2.1 today and the problem is no longer there. It even somehow fixed all by itself several of the accent-less artist names I desperately tried to fix earlier :-) The id3 tags were as far as I could see always updated with the correct tags, but it didn't replace them in the database, but the latest version does it correctly. So thanks for fixing this, even if it happened by magic :-)
Thanks for the fast feedback :)
