Description Moray Guise 2009-03-17 17:40:55 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
Compiler: Mandriva Linux 2009.0 Powerpack 64-bit
OS: Linux
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

We have several user logins on one PC. The desktop for one user has crashed several times, to the point of disappearing (not even a cursor). I moved the kde4 folder for this user, logged in, made some minor changes (configured date, Klipper...), and set a picture as desktop wallpaper. Logged out and back in - the picture loaded OK, panel OK. Clicked on the Mandriva menu and got a fatal error:
"The application Plasma Workspace (plasma) crashed and caused the signal 6 (SIGABRT)."
There were no documents loaded, nor apps running. The desktop was almost competely fresh. In the next few minutes I ran Konqueror and KWrite, and selected other menu items without a crash.

I saved the backtrace, logged out and back, clicked on the menu once the desktop had loaded, and the error was reproduced exactly - the backtraces are the same. The desktop seems usable, but since this has happened repeatedly in the past few days, I suspect it may disappear completely on logging in again after a few more changes.

Backtrace:

Application: Plasma Workspace (plasma), signal SIGABRT
