Version: (using KDE 4.2.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Right now I can display my google calendar appointments in calendar through akonadi, but uploading events is not possible. Neither syncing kaddressbook with my contacts on gmail.
I too would like to have this feature in future version of Kaddressbook and Kcalendar. The google provider for thunderbird is able to do this. May be the same code can be used.
This is implemented in KDE 4.3 according to the release notes: http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.3/index.php "...and KOrganizer can sync with Google Calendar." My only question is: how? Adding the Google Calendar as an ical source in Akonadi works, but it is read-only. Anyway, if it is implemented, half of this bug can be closed.)
I don't know if it is possible to write on Google Calendar via ical source, but it can be done using google calendar akonadi resource. It is in extragear and allows to sync in both ways. Well I haven't figured out yet how to write but I can modify existing events. I think this bug can be closed
I think support for recurring appointments falls in the scope of this request. http://code.google.com/p/libgcal/issues/detail?id=18 It's a known issue, but it hadn't been mentioned here yet.

Is this bug exist now? Now it is possible to upload events from KOrganizer to Google Calendar and downloads from Google Calendar to KOrganizer. But for me if the first operation execute immidiately when event is added or modified the secons operation (download) don't execute until manually synchronize on Akonadi console or reenter account data in Akonadi settings.
The GoogleData resource is no longe maintained, we've been using the new Google Calendar and Google Contacts resources for years now, they should implement what's been initially requested in the ticket.
