Version: 4.2.1 (using KDE 4.2.1) Compiler: 4.3.3 OS: Linux Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package My idea of work with email is to read every message and delete if after that. Unfortunately that's problematic because deleting skips threads and requires me to manually go back to "top" thread. Suppose that in kmail we have sorting set to: - sort by date/time - last recent on top - aggregation: standard mailing list 1. First email - 1 March - cursor here 2. + Re: First email - 10 March 3. + Re: First email - 15 March 4. + Re: First email - 20 March 2. Second email - 5 March 3. Third email - 6 March 4. Fourth email - 25 March now kmail sorts threads by date. After deleting 1) we get: 1. Second email - 5 March 2. Third email - 6 March 3. + Re: First email - 10 March - cursor here 4. + Re: First email - 15 March 5. + Re: First email - 20 March 6. Fourth email - 25 March and after deleting 3), 4) and 5) we end with 1. Second email - 5 March 2. Third email - 6 March 3. Fourth email - 25 March - cursor here which means that our cursor already skipped 1) and 2) emails :-( Now I have to manually go back to 1). Hving multiple threads like "First email" + "Re: First email" means that kmail will constantly skip threads and require me to manually go back to "top" thread. Can this somehow be improved in kmail? It would be nice if kmail jumped to "top" unread thread not next after deletion (after re-sorting due to deletion).
Very related to bug 183923.
Confirmed in KDE 4.3.5
I'm currently at 4.4.0 and still cannot read whole email folder by just deleting emails. kmail always skips few mails jumping me to middle of list, so I have to go back manually over and over.
