Description aw81 2009-03-16 09:30:05 UTC
Version: 1.11.1 (using KDE 4.2.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

When attaching a file and clicking "compress" the changedate always gets changed to '2038-01-19 04:14' (at least it seems like its always the same time).

I'm talking about the file after unzipping it - the date of the zip-file is correct.

I've just experienced this behaviour when archiving a mail folder on KDE 4.9, Arch Linux.

Steps to reproduce:
Right click a folder, "Archive folder".
Click OK. (My settings defaulted to .tar.bz2)

The resulting archive has a correct timestamp, but all of its contents have max unix time, modified by my timezone.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
