Description Matthew Kern 2009-03-15 21:23:56 UTC
Version: 0.70.0 (using 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1), Gentoo)
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.28-gentoo

There was an error authenticating with the server: Login failed with unknown reason.

That message is given to me immediately after I try to go online to google talk using kopete. Kopete in 3.5.10, 4.0.x and 4.1.x have all worked on this gentoo install with google.

I have tried a number of combinations of server settings, recompiled the qca-* packages required, etc. Solutions to previous bugs of this type just don't work.

Reproduction for me is easy - just try to log into google talk using kopete... dunno if anyone else can get this, though.

editing the kopeterc file manually results in a fix - not sure exactly what it was, but it worked. Sorry for your time (and database space)
