Description Alvaro Aguilera 2009-03-12 02:32:50 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1) "release 103", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.1)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.19-3.2-default

I would like to see the current temperature just right to the time. For example:

20:30 15°C

I know there are several weather widgets out there but I find them over-bloated. You could disable this "show temperature" function by default, like you do with the "show date" function.

It would be something very nice to have and would deprecate absolute all other weather widgets :)

I don't like this idea - the digital clock plasmoid should show a digital clock, nothing else. Make / ask for another plasmoid, that just shows "15 °C", and put it right next to a digital clock plasmoid.

We have discussed this option on the plasma developers list and decided this
option will not be added to the standard clock widget. There are many weather widgets that can be used instead.

You are right. I changed my mind about this wish after suffering with the clock's calender integration. Do you know the little applet starts the whole akonadi framework, even if you don't use it and don't want it running? Anyways, that is stuff for another wish. Kudos for you for not overbloating the clock applet with my wild wish ;)
